1. What type of encryption does Chrysalis DP use to secure the data being backed up? How secure is my data?
Chrysalis DP uses the Blowfish encryption algorithm. You can get more information about blowfist algorithm at http://www.schneier.com/blowfish.html

In addition, all data is stored in one of our secure data centers with 24/7 security personel on site. The data center is also secured by card key plus keypad access system allowing only approved personnel entry into the data center.

2. I need to backup a large amount of data over the Internet and it is taking too much time. Is there a better way?
Yes there is! Typically, your first backup takes the longest time and bandwidth. Thereafter, if you've enabled incremental backups (which you should be doing if you are backing up online), only changes in files/folders are backed up. The incremental backups consume a lot less time and bandwidth. Chrysalis DP has a feature that allows you to take the first 'heavy' backup locally to say, an external hard drive, physically move the data to a remote server, and thereafter seamlessly continue with incremental backups directly to the remote server. If you are interested in this option, contact our office and we will even ship you an external hard drive to assist with the process.

3. I have backed up my data from my desktop/laptop/server to the remote server. But now I do not have access to the original machine anymore. How do I restore my old data to my new machine?
If you want to restore your data from a new machine, you can install Chrysalis DP on the new machine with the Chrysalis DP ID you used before. And you will first need to restore your 'client configurations' from the backup server before you restore your data from them. You can do this is the Chrysalis DP menu. Be sure and contact eMonarch support team for assistance.
